AIRGEO Experience

Magnetic with combined Radiometric survey (Mag/Rad) in central South Australia near the spectacular Flinders Ranges in mid 2024.

For this mission we used our general purpose heavy lift and long endurance UAV platform, Skylle Hexacopter. A Cube Orange autopilot powered and RF Design 900x long range telemetry system.

In an early program effort to combine two magnetic sensors, for increased efficiency, AirGeo carried a Medusa 1000 Spectrometer UAV mounted and a separate cable attached Gen 1 MagBird.

AIRGEO will as a future development, design a dedicated MagRad solution that utilizes advanced intelligence systems incorporated within the MagBird Groundstation.

The MagRad solution will be a priority development program following on from our advanced Gen 2 MagBird System to capitalise on the growing Uranium Minining opportunities across Australia.

On a Mineral Sands survey in Southern NSW, we experienced some really interesting terrain and surface features that really added to the challenge and in part the beauty of the Area, one of the real bonuses in travelling our great land!

The predominantly farm area was lightly undulating with the usual hazards of Dams and large Windmills.  The local area had in recent months had a significant rain event resulting in many low-lying areas to flooding existing swampy features. The area was both visually beautiful and a little nerve wracking with considerable swamp overflights with no way to access should the worst occur. Fortunately, our elevated Dam wall launch location enabled excellent comms and long line of sight comms.

On our site reccy's, we identify hazards like this tower and measure it with a very small drone to ascertain its height.  We make a Geo mark for our flight plan to either fly around it or ensure flight altitude is sufficient not to strike the object.

From the lush farm areas near Eungella, the desert near Cloncurry and the Whitsunday Coast in Queensland, you can have it all just on one Survey deployment!

Travel to interesting locales, one of the true joys of this profession.
